I've in no way heard of the typical cold currently getting transmitted sexually, but i suppose anything's possible. I think it's more probable that it spreads by respiratory droplets from coughing, sneezing, or touching contaminated surfaces.

Yeah, that's what i've constantly thought too. The common cold is caused by viruses like rhinovirus or coronavirus, which are usually spread by way of close contact with infected folks or contaminated objects. I haven't come throughout any credible sources suggesting sensual transfer.
