The Link Why Do Antidepressants Cause sexual Dysfunction?
#2
Hi, that's a great question. Antidepressants, especially those in the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (ssri) class, are known to affect neurotransmitters in the brain, including serotonin. It's believed that the augment in serotonin levels can interfere with sexual arousal and job, triggering backlash like decreased erotic appetite, difficulty achieving orgasm, and erectile dysfunction.
