Why is food Wars so Sexualized? - Mckee - 06-19-2023

Okay, so i've been binge-watching nutrition wars lately, and can we speak on how over-the-top the sexualization is? I get that it's a cooking anime, however do they exactly need to prepare each food reaction scene so... Suggestive?

I totally agree! I indicate, don't have me wrong, i love the cooking battles and the intense competition, but typically it feels like i'm viewing something bordering on grownup content ratherthan a cooking present.

I think about the sexualization may well be a deliberate selection to draw in viewers. I mean, let's face it, connection sells, right? However at what position does it turn excessive and detract from the true cooking aspect of the show?

That's a good point. I mean, i get that there's an audience for fanservice, but occasionally it feels like food wars is relying too heavily on it to keep people fascinated. Do you deem it will take away from the story and characters?

Definitely. I mean, the characters are talented chefs with exceptional personalities, and the cooking battles are supposed to be the main focus. However when every victory is accompanied by someone's apparel exploding off or overly exaggerated foodgasms, it kind of cheapens everything experience.

True, true. And it's not just the woman characters who get sexualized; even the guys aren't spared from the fanservice. But i surprise if there's a course for the present to hit a balance amongst the cooking aspect and the fanservice with out heading overboard.

Yeah, i assume that would be ideal. I mean, fanservice is fine in moderation, but when it becomes the main marketing point of the display, it commences to overshadow every thing else. Probably if they toned it down a bit, food wars could appeal to a wider audience who may well be turned off by the excessive sexualization.

RE Why is food Wars so Sexualized? - RossQ - 06-20-2023

Agreed. I truly like the principle of food wars and the creativity that goes into the cooking battles, even so at times i feel like i need justify watching it by way of how sexualized it is. It would be great if the show could focus more on the culinary aspect and less on the... More stuff.

Nicely stated. At the end of the day, food wars has a lot of potential as a cooking anime, but it would profit from dialing back on the sexualization and allowing the food speak for itself. Ideally, the creators normally takes feedback from fans into consideration for future seasons.
