Hey all and sundry, i desired to open up a discussion on a topic that doesn't get talked on enough: guys who practice erogenous harassment from girls. Get you ever encountered or read on those kinds of situations? What are your thoughts?
That's an vital topic to bring up. I feel there's oftentimes a stigma surrounding men reporting erogenous harassment, especially if it's perpetrated by a woman. Society tends to downplay or even mock men who speak out on those experiences.
I agree. It's definitely a dual normal. Gentle men are expected to be solid and assertive, so when they're the victims of harassment, it can be difficult for them to enter forward with out feeling emasculated or ashamed.
Do you think there are distinct reasons why this concern is ignored or dismissed in society?
I think 1 explanation could be the conventional gender roles that portray men as constantly wanting and enjoying sexy advances, no matter the circumstances. So when a male does practice harassment, it can be seen as less serious or even as a joke by any people.
Also, there's this misconception that men should continually be able to defend themselves physically, so when they're harassed by ladies, it's usually not taken seriously simply just because they're not seen as currently becoming in real danger.
It seems like there are much societal expectations and stereotypes at fun below. How do you feel we can challenge those perceptions and create a more supportive atmosphere for men who practice intimate harassment?
I feel a course is by raising awareness and having open conversations that way 1. We need to debunk the myths surrounding masculinity and acknowledge that any individual can be a victim of harassment, no matter gender.
Really. Education is important. We need to teach individuals on assent, boundaries, and regard from an early age, regardless of gender. And we also need to encourage a culture where survivors feel safe coming forward and searching for assist without fear of judgment or ridicule.
That's a really good point. Generating a culture of empathy and understanding is crucial in addressing this problem. Thanx for sharing your thoughts, everybody. Let's keep the conversation heading and keep up to raise awareness on guys who practice sexual harassment.
